Tech that powers TRAIT

Blockchain is a complex technology consisting of many parts including cryptography, network layer, storage, consensus system, and business logic of the blockchain.

TRAIT uses open-source technologies created by Parity Tech (Substrate, Polkadot, and Kusama) and adapts them to make blockchain available to the entire gaming industry.

Substrate is an open-source framework for building blockchain networks developed by Parity Tech. It provides developers with a modular and customisable platform to create their own blockchain protocols and applications. Substrate eliminates many of the complexities involved in the blockchain development by offering pre-built modules for consensus mechanisms, token economies, governance systems, and more.

Polkadot and Kusama are blockchains built with Substrate. The work of these blockchains over many years has allowed Substrate to become a mature technology.

TRAIT is a separate blockchain built with Substrate to bring innovations and provide a platform for adoption of blockchain technology in the gaming industry.

The TRAIT, Polkadot, and Kusama blockchains differ from each other. Transactions on one blockchain are not supported by another blockchain. Nevertheless, these blockchains are all built on Substrate. Therefore, many (but not all) features and characteristics of Polkadot and Kusama also relate to TRAIT. Also, many tools made for Polkadot and Kusama are suitable for TRAIT.
