Free Transfers

Introduction

TRAIT blockchain allows regular users - players - to make free transfers of asset. When compared with other blockchains, regular users of the TRAIT blockchain do not need to pay a BTC / ETH / etc commission per transaction (also known as gas tokens). This removes one of the main barriers to the use of the blockchain by regular people.

By enabling free transfers, players can engage in activities like trading, gifting, or transferring assets without worrying about the friction of securing gas tokens. This greatly enhances the user experience, making it easier for new players to start and for existing players to remain engaged without the constant hassle of managing transaction fees.

And of course not many players are willing to pay for the transfer of in-game items. Free transfers increase the potential audience of users of blockchain tokens by several orders of magnitude.

How the free transfers look for the regular user

For the user, making transfers is intuitive. To transfer a token, the user fills out the sending form in the TRAIT wallet: specifies the token to be sent and the recipient. Then the analysis of the transaction is performed. If the transfer can be free, the user will see Estimated fee: 0 on the screen. If the processing of the transaction requires payment of a TX fee, the user will see a corresponding notification on the screen.

How free transfers look for the games

For the game, free deposits are no different from deposits that paid TX fee and do not require special processing.

Hold period

If a regular user sends a token to another regular user free of TX fee, then the token is put on hold for 20 hours. During this time, the user received the token sees it on his address, but is not be able to transfer it for free. After 20 hours, the user can make a free transfer of his token.

However, the user can transfer the token via the Transfer channel installed by the application (see Transfer channels). And user can also transfer the token by paying the standard TX fee in TRAIT tokens.

Hold period for 20 hours is one of security measures to prevent network spam. We expect this period to decrease in the future.
